El fomento del pensamiento crítico por medio de la auto-evaluación y el uso de portafolios

Resumen

Éste es un reporte de un estudio de caso llevado a cabo con estudiantes de sexto grado en un colegio público en Bogotá. El objetivo principal de este estudio era analizar si se desarrollaba el pensamiento crítico a través del uso de portafolios y la práctica de auto-evaluación. Para observar el proceso de pensamiento crítico de los estudiantes se utilizaron diferentes instrumentos: el diario del profesor, los portafolios de los estudiantes, grabaciones de video, entrevistas y un cuestionario. Los resultados mostraron que la auto-evaluación ayuda a desarrollar el pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes, especialmente las habilidades de autorregulación y evaluación. Asimismo, el uso de portafolios incrementó la autonomía en los estudiantes. Además, se halló que se desarrollaron las habilidades para autoexaminarse y autocorregirse.

Sandra Patricia Torres Díaz holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics to the TEFL and a B.A. in Modern Languages from Universidad Distrital. Currently, she works at Instituto Técnico Industrial Piloto and at the Universidad Autónoma de Colombia.
